Like any self-respecting cat, Splat likes to gorge himself on fish sticks and ice cream, but even these cravings pale before his adoration of his classmate Kitten. As Valentine’s Day approaches, our hero fashions a valentine so exquisite that he hopes that his secret love will ignore his rival and scamper to his side. Purr-fect for young lovers and would-be lovers.

CUTE CUTE CUTE! Splat steals my heart a little more with every book I read, but this one really takes the cake. I mean, what is more adorable than an insecure Splat who really likes a girl. There’s a little of that typical child affection. Kitten pokes Splat belly and ties his tail in knots. Of course, Splat thinks it’s because she doesn’t like him. Then he get her card and reads her poem! The whole time that Splat is trying to understand why she does these things, Seymour just looks at him like he knows something. I think Seymour’s smarter than he looks. Seymour is Splat’s pet mouse, by the way. He’s in every picture, looking adorable.

This is another good one for the kiddies!
