TGIF: Book Appeal

When you’re browsing goodreads, the library, or another blogger’s reviews, what grabs your attention to make you want to read it?

When it comes to Goodreads, I don’t browse much. I do follow the reviews of almost all my friends, though. Their ratings are usually what make me look at the review to begin with and if the review is good, I’ll usually add it to my TBR. At the library and in passing on other blogs, I must admit, the cover is what catches my eye. I love beautiful covers, and though I know I shouldn’t judge books that’s way, I can’t help it. If they’re pretty, I’m more likely to read the blurb.

This week on the blog
It’s Monday! What are you reading?
Manga Monday: Ouran High School Host Club, Volume 16 by Bisco Hatori
February 2012 TBR
In My Mailbox: January 2012
WoW: February 2012 Releases

  1. Totally the cover. It has to be decent enough to spark my interest. The combination of the cover and the title is what triggers my wanting to spend a few more minutes to read the summary and decide if it’s for me.

  2. I love goodreads because you can see what multiple people have said about a book! I follow my friends reviews and see wjat looks interesting.

  3. I definitely take advantage of the fact that the internet connects me to readers with similar tastes as mine! It’s great to get some book recommendations from fellow bloggers and readers, especially since, more often than not, I end up loving their choices!

  4. Oh yes, trusted book blogger friends are awesome sources. It’s great when you have a few trusted recommenders, isn’t it? 🙂 It’s why Goodreads is awesome.

I hope you’ll drop by and enter my giveaway to win one of three ARCs! 🙂
